Due to COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions as published by Ready Schools, Safe Learners: Community COVID-19 Metrics as published by Governor Kate Brown, The Oregon Department of Education and The Oregon Health Authority, we regret to inform you the St. John Lutheran School's Board of Christian Education has decided to close the school for the 2020-2021 school year.
Due to the Jackson County Metrics for re-opening we are not guaranteed to open on time. When we do open, our school may have to close in the future if the metrics for our county go above the published threshold, which could keep us closed for up to a month or more. For this reason, we are foreseeing opening and then closing, then opening and then closing. This is not an ideal situation where families are paying tuition for onsite Christian Instruction.
Our goal at SJLS is to educate your child on-site, where we are able teach your children with our Lord and Savior in the center of all we do. Our school mission is to provide a Christ centered quality education where children can grow academically, spiritually, socially , physically, and emotionally for life. Enabling children to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior so they may grow in Christian maturity and boldly share their faith with others.
We realize what devastating news this is to many of our families, but due to the current metrics for our county we have no choice but to give families time to ready themselves for their child's education. We hope and pray that our school will be up and running for the 2021-2022 school year. May God continue to guide you in your decisions.
