St. John Lutheran Church has partnered with several area churches and ACCESS Food Program of Jackson County Community Works, to provide emergency food to the Eagle Point area. Emergency food is available on most Mondays from 4:00-5:30pm. 

We thank our client for not arriving before 3:30 pm to receive food. The food pantry is NOT open when the following holidays fall on a Monday: New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Christmas Day.

The ACCESS Food Distribution Program is always in need of support--here's a few ways YOU can get involved:

• Sign up to volunteer during distribution hours (usually one day per month or as you can).
• Support the mobile food pantry financially. Checks to Eagle Point Food Pantry  
• Donate non-perishable food items in the bins provided at St. John (diapers and toilet paper are also appreciated!)

St. John is a growing congregation with many young families and children--it is common (and perfectly okay with us) to occasionally hear a newborn testing out their voice during Sunday service!

Before the Covid-19 virus appeared, St. John offered Sunday School each week, as well as a Children's Message and nursery care during the service (children of all ages are encouraged to remain in the congregation up until the Children's Message). 

As we are walking through theses present times of government restriction, said to be the best way to get through to the end of the virus, we have experienced a variety of responses and many of our younger families with small children are maintaining separation from crowds and group gatherings. Some have begun gathering in worship and those who are remaining separate from crowds are joining in worship via our Live Stream media. 

Before the Covid-19 virus appeared, St. John also prioritized and incorporated family by offering "Family Faith Nights" on Wednesdays during Advent and Lent. Regular Youth Group every Wednesday encourages fellowship and growing together in faith through study and memorizing  of God's word, singing his praise, building each other up  and helping each person to discover develop God's gifts of grace.

As we discover and reach the end of Covid-19 virus, we realize we have a wider variety of ministry opportunities for you adults and younger families. 

We have always placed the care and safety for all people at the top of our values and ministry planning. We did not care more for people when Covid-19 appeared. We were invited to ask ourselves, how can we best love God and All People as we are loved by God.

The answer in light of the lack of information about Covid-19 was simple. Take a break from gathering together to avoid unknowingly spreading the virus to anyone.

Now that we are nearing 5 months of Covid-19, we have maintained the care of all people and made a safe way for all to gather in person who have peace about gathering.

We have always maintained that each person must have peace about their comfort zones and we will continue to make sure that we do not make anyone uncomfortable in our gatherings. 

During this summer, St. John has not scheduled a formal Vacation Bible School.

There are a number of ways to participate in St. John's music ministry:

• Sing in choir
• Play a musical instrument
• Play the piano in worship
• Play the organ in worship
• Sing at local senior living homes
• Operate sound equipment
• Assist with Sunday School music
• Be a Sunday School song leader
  

This is an all ages ministry--we've had children as young as 6 playing music and singing as part of our worship services. St. John follows a rotating liturgy that includes both traditional and contemporary music. There truly is something for everyone, and we'd love you to join us!
