OUR MINISTRIES

St. John Lutheran Church is comprised of a number of ministries all with the same goal: to share the love of Christ with others. St. John's largest ministry is St. John Lutheran School, but there are a number of other ways to become involved as well! Here are a few of the other ministries of St. John:

  • St. John Lutheran school

St. John Lutheran School is one of the largest ministries of St. John Lutheran Church. For more information about St. John Lutheran School, please click here.

  • ACCESS MOBILE FOOD PANTRY

St John Lutheran Church is the home of the ACCESS Mobile Food Distribution Program. Eagle Point had been without an ACCESS food pantry or delivery system for some time, and it is St. John's privilege to become a host site for the Mobile Food Pantry in partnership with other Upper Rogue congregations.

The ACCESS Food Distribution Program is always in need of support--here's a few ways YOU can get involved:

    • Sign up to volunteer during distribution hours (usually one day per month or as you can).
    • Support the mobile food pantry financially. Checks to Eagle Point Food Pantry
    • Donate non-perishable food items in the bins provided at St. John (diapers and toilet paper are also appreciated!)

To get involved contact us at stjohnep@gmail.com or call 541-826-4334

  • CHILDREN & TEENS

St. John is a growing congregation with many young families and children--it is common (and perfectly okay with us) to occasionally hear a newborn testing out their voice during Sunday service!

St. John offers Sunday School each week, as well as a Children's Message and nursery care during the service (children of all ages are encouraged to remain in the congregation up until the Children's Message). St. John also prioritizes and incorporates family by offering "Family Faith Nights" on Wednesdays during Advent and Lent. Regular Youth Group every Wednesday encourages fellowship and growing together in faith through study and memorizing  of God's word, singing his praise, building each other up  and helping each person to discover develop God's gifts of grace.

During the summer, St. John also offers Vacation Bible School--all children are welcome to attend free of charge.

Young Adults will find a variety of opportunities to be connected on ministry, training and discipleship

  • MUSIC MINISTRY

There are a number of ways to participate in St. John's music ministry:

    • Sing in choir
    • Play a musical instrument
    • Play the piano in worship
    • Play the organ in worship
    • Sing at local senior living homes
    • Operate sound equipment
    • Assist with Sunday School music
    • Be a Sunday School song leader

This is an all ages ministry--we've had children as young as 6 playing music and singing as part of our worship services. St. John follows a rotating liturgy that includes both traditional and contemporary music. There truly is something for everyone, and we'd love you to join us!

  • FUN IN THE SON

Fun in the Son is an annual community BBQ and carnival that takes place at the end of June. Everyone is invited, everything is free. The purpose is purely to facilitate fellowship and community with families in the Upper Rogue. • HARVEST FEST

Our Harvest Fest/Trunk or Treat is another annual community event centered around fellowship, and the celebration of all that God has provided. This event is held on a Friday evening in October, and includes dinner, games, crafts, activities, and a trunk or treat!
This is a free event, open to the entire community.

For the last several years, we have been blessed to be able to hand out copies of the Jesus Storybook Bible to any families and children who wished to have a copy, thanks to a grant from Green Mountain Ministries!

  • THRIVENT BUILDS

From the first nail to the last, building a home through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a profound experience.  It's not just concrete and wood, it is also tears and smiles, born of hard work and faith.  And it's the knowledge that you've helped change lives.

St. John partners with Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity in building homes in the Rogue Valley. All levels of experience are welcome. Please contact the church office at stjohnep@gmail.com for more information about the next build.
